belated 28 week belly pic

Sorry this is so late, it just seems like I have been non-stop these last few days. I went to the dr Friday for my 28 week checkup. Dr. K said just from measuring the size of my uterus, he believes we will have a fairly large baby come November. After hearing that, I'm fairly certain that my girl parts shuttered in fear. Hopefully the u/s in the coming months proves otherwise.

Good news on the GD front. If my numbers continue to stay lower than the max number, I will only have to test twice a day instead of 4x a day! woohoo for less finger pricks! My only issue if my fasting numbers.. it seems like those are always right at or one point below that 95 number.

How far along: 28 weeks, 6 days
Total weight gain/loss: +22 lbs
Maternity clothes? I lucked up and found two really cute maternity tops at walmart yesterday for $1!!! 1 whole dollar!!
Stretch marks? no new ones, yet
Sleep: i am getting more uncomfortable at night trying to find a good sleeping position, and my body temperature goes nuts... one hour I am waking up from night sweats, the next I am stealing the covers from Dusty because I am freezing. Lets just say our electricty bill has been out the wazoo because I keep it on 68-66 at night.
Best moment this week: above maternity top deals!
Movement: im not sure if its her head or what, but I keep feeling pressure towards my pelvic bone. I also get feet lodged in my ribs and owww is all i can say!
Food cravings: nothing really...
Food aversions: none
Gender: GIRL!!!!
Labor Signs:none
Belly Button in or out? its pretty much flat, just depending on how she is turned in the ute.
What I miss: ...
What I am looking forward to: getting the crib put together..
Weekly Wisdom: enjoy these last couple months, because they will fly by!
Milestones: If Whitley comes before her due date like Dr. K is expecting her too, we only have about 8-9 more weeks! Of course, she is welcome to stay in as long as she needs to bake!!

decisions, decisions...

After hours and hours spent looking for "the stroller" we decided on the InSTEP Safari stroller. We definitely wanted the three wheeled stroller because of the rough terrain around the house, and feel the tires will hold up much better out here than the 4 wheel stroller. Between the three color choices, we opted for the brown/blue/ orange trim.

Originally when we started looking, there is only one or two travel system three wheel strollers, so I figured I would just have to buy the infant seat seperately. So I started on my quest for a infant carseat.. and this is where you come in.

I have narrowed my options down to two carseats. Both are rated very high in safety ratings and are gender neutral (really more boyish, but thats a whole 'nother post on neutral=boyish) and are compatible with the stroller.

Graco Safeseat in Birkshire

the pattern looks like this:
Then we have my next choice, Chicco Keyfit 30
Please tell me your opinions, good and bad on these two seats!

27 weeks!

This week has been good so far. My BS readings have been spread across the board but still maintained under the max number. Mostly thats due to trying out what I can eat and what I can't. I have had a huge sweet tooth this past week (hello, I baked banana crumb bread at 10 pm Wed night..)

Not to mention I have been craving chips and salsa and sushi (not together, thank goodness) like a mad woman.

I started having issues with bewbie leakage.. and thats never fun, but its mostly at night that the issue arises, so it hasn't been too bad!

25 weeks

What a week.. on Friday I went in to do my 3 hour glucose test, and unfortunately, I failed. So from now until when Whitley is born, I do finger pricks 4x a day to test my blood sugar. So far it has been in excellent range, actually the highest it has been is 97, and that was even after a small amount of banana pudding.

Changing my dieting habits has actually been alot easier than I anticipated. Mainly, cutting out almost all of the butter usage when cooking (I will miss you Land O' Lakes) and substituting with olive oil, or butter flavored cooking spray. I recommend diabeticgourmet.com, that website is loaded with GD-friendly recipes that so far have been delicious!!! As I find award worthy recipes, I will try to post them for anyone looking.

The 25 week picture is somewhat late, but we have just been going and going, but I was able to snap a pic after getting home late Saturday night from going out to eat for Dusty's grandparent's 56 wedding anniversary! WOW! So please excuse the tired looking eyes..

How far along: 25 weeks, 5 days
Total weight gain/loss: +18 lbs
Maternity clothes? yes
Stretch marks? found a small one on my right hip
Sleep: was actually somewhat better the last week or so..
Best moment this week: well not Whitley-related, but my best friend is being induced on WEDNESDAY!!!
Movement: all the time, I feel her the most in the afternoons and late at night.
Food cravings: lets not go there.. all the foods I can't have basically
Food aversions: none
Gender: GIRL!!!!
Labor Signs:none
Belly Button in or out? in
What I miss: fried food..
What I am looking forward to: meeting Tynes Lee on Wednesday!
Weekly Wisdom: pretty much all the info the nurse gave me on GD
Milestones: wouldn't really call it a milestone, but I was diagnosed with GD on Friday. :(

Nursery progress!

I can't express how thankful I am for my husband, my family, and friends, because without them.. this post wouldn't exist! They have been so helpful with getting Whit's room ready and dealing with my "polite" requests.

Daddy Dusty nailing the rope on the walls
it's up and looking good!

armoire and the wall where the crib will go
dresser/ changing table
my mirror project, still in progress, but looks much better white!
